Today was one of those days where I was very thankful that my husband has such a flexible work schedule. Me and Nick met up for lunch then parted ways to finish up our day and wouldn’t you know not even an hour after leaving him I have a flat tire. I still had a ton of sales calls I needed to make so he came to the rescue with Fix a Flat and we headed to Scott Stevens Tires. We dropped the car off and then Nick spent the rest of the day “Driving Miss Daisy” as he likes to call it.
I actually enjoyed being driven around today. At one point I joked that I would pay him $100 a week to drive me to all of my sales calls but he declined my offer. Anyway… Nick has been on this health kick for a while now. He has actually done really well with it and has lost quite a bit of weight. I am super proud of him. However, he also has this little weakness. He likes to buy useless gym equipment like the Shake Weight. Well actually, I happen to like to Shake Weight a lot (but I’m also a girl… lets not forget that).
Well he was on this kick a few months ago where he just had to have an elliptical machine. Oh the great things he could do if he had an elliptical. Oh he would actually do cardio if he had an elliptical. Yeah, yeah, yeah…
So what do we do? We head to Play it Again Sports (great place by the way) and get an elliptical. I bet that nifty elliptical has felt the bottoms of Nick’s feet 3 times in the year we have had this thing. I think my 7 year old has spent more time playing on that machine and I have used it more as a place to hang clothes than anything else.
So today we are driving down the road and he says “You know I think I would do more cardio if I had a bicycle.” So I immediately respond back with “Oh my gosh… shut up. We are not getting another –if i had this I’d do cardio– thing period until you use that flipping elliptical that is sitting in our bedroom.”
He then looks at me and says “Oh no, your right. Maybe you can get that Cricket Machine out that we bought and put my name on it or maybe you could break out that Singer sewing machine (that is still in the box and plastic) and sew me up a new seat cover for it.”
Well all I could respond back with was “touché Nick, touché”. Guess Nick is getting a bike…

Heh. We recently got a Keurig, even though the MR doesn’t drink coffee. His reasoning “it will be great for tea, which I do like.” Ummm…because microwaving water was so hard before?
